TOLEDO OHIO HUNGARIANS
HUNGARIAN CLUB OF TOLEDO
I was unable to find an official web site for this active group, other than Facebook. I personally have never done Facebook but I realize some people like it. So, I will allow you to do your own bit of research in order to connect with your Hungarian and American-Hungarian peers in Toledo. For those of you, who are like me, not familiar with Toledo, they are in the Birmingham area and it appears they have a club house.
The group appears to be very active and get involved in local festivals like the Beer and Bacon.

PS: Ohio and New Jersey have the most people of Hungarian or American-Hungarian descent.

Our grandparents and parents fought for their existence during their lifetimes and the messages their lives convey will make it easier to undersatnd our own life today. We just have to listen....

Excerpt: From autumn to spring during the Ball Season, the Cultural Centre and the Hungarian partner associations organize balls and entertainment on various Saturday nights, where children and adults of the Greater Toronto audience can have fun, have an ample Hungarian dinner, and dance to live Hungarian music.
In addition, other cultural events (such as Literature Day, Hungarian Day), clubs (Cooking Club, Film Club, Pensioners Club) and performances/lectures (such as Semmelweis Memorial Day) are organized in the Hungarian House in such a manner as to provide an audience, of the widest possible interests, with entertaining and valuable programs.

Hungarian Heritage Foundation of the San Francisco Bay Area is a group so welcoming all you have to do or be is interested. They have a website that will take you to a PDF file. They are ambitious.

MINNESOTA HUNGARIANS CLUB
"Minnesota Hungarians, was organized by Hungarian immigrants and their supporters in Minnesota over 100 years ago. It’s goals have been to engage in cultural, educational and philanthropic endeavors as a non-profit and charitable association.
The Minnesota Hungarians have sponsored a wide variety of cultural and educational programs and have hosted receptions, meetings and workshops for Hungarian diplomats, dignitaries, writers and artists over the years. Minnesota Hungarians have partnered with Unity Unitarian Church, Immigration History Research Center, International Institute of Minnesota and with several other local ethnic groups and organizations.
The mission of Minnesota Hungarians is to represent and promote the Hungarian culture and heritage in Minnesota and the U.S.A.; to organize and conduct cultural, educational, artistic and recreational programs; to engage in fundraising activities in order to support humanitarian and charitable endeavors; to sponsor and promote trade and cultural exchanges between Hungary and the United States."

WEST VIRGINIA HUNGARIANS : I WANT TO LEARN MORE
"In 1890, there were 236 native Hungarians in West Virginia. By 1900, there were 1,062 Hungarians in the state, with about half of them split evenly between McDowell and Marion counties. Most were coal miners. The 1910 census lists a total of 5,939 Hungarians in West Virginia, although the influx slowed as indicated by the 1920 census listing 6,260, with Logan and McDowell counties with the greatest number. Hungarians were the second most numerous immigrant group in West Virginia mines after the turn of the 20th century, with Italians being first."

HUNGARIAN CLUB OF COLORADO
The Hungarian Leadership, in the interest of national unity, started a program which goal is to register every Hungarian living abroad. Whoever registers, personally of course, will get information about Hungary on a regular basis which serves the common interests. Personal information will of course be secure and will be kept private according to law.
