Perhaps you would like to own some chess pieces or a religious statue or perhaps the latest figurines of tortoise or tigers. Perhaps you would simply like to eat off fine porcelain plates or pour tea from a porcelain tea pot or put your flowers in a special vase. Well, it will set you back a few hundred to many thousands of dollars. You can purchase in Canada or in the United States and other locations. But if you happen to be in Hungary...
Herend is the finest porcelain in Hungary and has been around for quite some time since 1826.
HEREND VISIT INFORMATION HEREND HUNGARY
According to a German website the Herend Manufactory is the largest of its kind in the world and everything is down in century old traditional ways, each and every phase by expert skilled crafts persons.
While sometimes someone sells on e-bay, these are collector's items.
I found this video that is simply wonderful. It features deaf sign language and even a scene in which a Hungarian deaf signer is translating! And scenes of the artists finally painting the porcelain.
JOEL BARISH : VIDEOS : HEREND TOUR Joel has traveled the world and is the founder of Deaf Nation.
